AAB Privacy Policy

Information Collection and Use 

The data and personal information we collect through our website is used only to help Arms Around Bainbridge (AAB) achieve our mission to provide financial and emotional support to Bainbridge Island residents facing financial crisis as a result of illness.  

We only collect personal information that you give us. This includes information you provide when you sign up to volunteer, sign up for our newsletter, donate to AAB, participate in an AAB event, or apply for assistance. When you engage with our website, fill out a form, call us, or otherwise provide us with information we may keep the information you provide. Examples of this type of information are your address, your name, your phone number, your email address, medical information, billing information, any digital file uploaded to AAB, any file emailed to AAB, tax returns, pay stubs, expenses information, etc. For volunteers, donors, and event participants, we collect personal information to facilitate your participation in AAB. For applicants seeking assistance from AAB, we use the personal information primarily to confirm eligibility for AAB assistance, determine the level of assistance you need, and deliver the assistance to you. While donors may make a donation using a credit card on links provided on our website, we use third parties to process credit card donations. AAB does not receive, have access to, or store your credit card information. 

We do not collect any personal information from users browsing our website. Like many website operators, we do collect data that your browser sends whenever you visit our site, which may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. 

Information Storage 

AAB stores information you provide electronically. The security of your personal information is important to us, but no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. 

Share Information with Third Parties 

For AAB applicants, we may share your personal information with AAB volunteers, hospitals, billing departments, or other parties to the extent necessary to provide financial services and to deliver services to your home (such as delivering meals to your home as part of AAB’s Good Eats program). By providing us your phone number you consent to receive text messages and phone calls from AAB and AAB volunteers. 

We may disclose your personal information to comply with the law or a lawful order. We also may disclose your personal information if we believe it is necessary to enforce an AAB policy or agreement. 

In other instances, we may share personal information with third parties if you give us individualized permission to do so. If this is the case, we will only use or share your information in the way you agreed to when giving us permission.
